Jane's 2024
2024 was a very tricky year for growing grapes: cold, wet and no sunshine. Thankfully our 38 year old Madeleine Angevine vines ripen even in challenging conditions so we are delighted to have made a good wine.
Our Kernling grapes that make Leonora's didn't fare so well and the crop was very small (partially thanks to the blackbirds who took a fancy to what was already a small crop). So small that we blended it with the Madeleine to add a little depth to the 2024 Jane's.
You will notice there are small crystals in the wine, often known as 'wine diamonds'. They are natural, harmless and a sign of gentle winemaking and minimal processing (you can add chemicals to stop it happening).
