DESCRIPTION

DESCRIPTION
Leonora's is made from the Kernling grape, a first crossing from the classic Riesling. Like Riesling it matures exceptionally well in the bottle, softening and developing honeyed overtones.
All of these wines from our small library of old vintages are still fresh and drinking well.
They have been stored peacefully on their side in our cool, dark winestore, a converted 17C stone-built farm stable with earth and cobble floor, 18 inch thick sandstone walls and no electricity. Some people believe electric fields adversely affect the long term maturation of wine. We are agnostic on this, but our farm buildings predate mains electricity and for the winestore we've kept it that way, just in case...
This case of six comes with vintage notes and photos of the grapes at harvest so you can learn more about how the weather and harvest date shapes the year-to-year differences.
